2. Companies activities and insurance products
2.1. Lloyd’s Europe’ activities consist principally in the carrying of non-life insurance and reinsurance business in the classes: 1a, 1b, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10a, 10b, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18, including but not limited to underwriting insurance policies, marketing insurance services and generally to carry out the business of an insurance company in all its aspects in Belgium and abroad (subject to local regulatory restrictions).
2.2. Lloyd’s Europe has granted authority to a number of managing agents to underwrite insurance policies on behalf of Lloyd’s Europe and to provide certain other services, including claims handling and complaints handling. Lloyd’s Europe has also granted to a number of managing agents the authority to appoint coverholders to underwrite insurance policies on behalf of Lloyd’s Europe and to appoint claims handlers to handle claims on behalf of Lloyd’s Europe.
2.3. Managing agents are active in the Lloyd’s insurance market and are responsible for carrying on the business of insurance and related activities on behalf of members of the syndicates under their management, in accordance with an agency agreement prescribed by Lloyd’s.
